Job Description

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: nutrition, public health, nutritional epidemiology, global/international health and nutrition, health/nutrition research, policy and/or management, health sciences, , or another health-related science field.

A minimum of eight years of progressive professional experience in a developing country context in one or more of the following areas is required: nutrition, public health, nutrition planning and management, or maternal, infant and child health/nutrition care.

Demonstrated experience of managing health/nutrition teams and leading nutrition programs is required.

Demonstrated experience in advancing public finance management, domestic financing for children on nutrition is required.
Demonstrated experience in leading & managing data & research on child nutrition is required.
Demonstrated experience of working on nutrition policy (Maternity Act, BMS code, Regulation of unhealthy food, etc.) including analysis towards policy development is required.
Previous experience of supporting government led health & nutrition systems including information management systems at the decentralized level is required.
Demonstrated experience in community engagement for improved nutrition practices and demand for services is required.
Previous experience in workforce strengthening is highly desirable.
Experience of partnership building with the private sector is highly desirable. Experience in health/nutrition programme/project development and management in a UN system agency or organization is an asset.
Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language or local language of the duty station is considered as an asset.
